Big Bio:
Tamera Will Wissinger lives with her husband on a river bay in a quiet part of South Florida. Some mornings she wakes up, looks out, and can’t believe how lucky she is to live near water. It’s so pretty and it often inspires her in her writing. They have a boat and sometimes they use it to go fishing.
Tamera was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and her first home was Eagle Grove, Iowa. Before starting kindergarten, her family moved to the very edge of Badger, Iowa, a tiny farm community. Each spring Tamera watched farmers plant their fields with corn or soybeans. In summer those fields grew and in fall the farmers harvested their crops. In addition to Iowa and Florida, Tamera has lived in South Dakota, and most recently, in the Chicago, Illinois area, where she still spends time.
Tamera grew up in a fishing family. Sometimes they fished from shore and other times they took their boat out on a lake. Tamera loved being with her family and being near the water. It gave her plenty of chances to see her family compete to catch the biggest fish or the most fish. Those good memories sparked her imagination while she was writing GONE FISHING.
Tamera feels lucky that some of her favorite things to do – reading and writing – are part of her job. When she’s not working, these are some other activities that she thinks are fun: fishing and boating, nature watching, drawing and painting, cooking a good meal for her family and friends, golfing, watching good movies, listening to music, traveling and exploring, and her mom recently taught her how to crochet.
